Wanda Matuszak Obituary, Death – On January 16, 2023, Wanda Lynne (Shook) Matuszak, who resided in Ruscombmanor Tp. and had 61 years of age at the time of her dying, passed away. When she died, she was a resident of Ruscombmanor Tp. Joseph M. Matuszak counted himself extremely lucky to have a woman who was so devoted to waiting for him at home. They tied the knot on February 15, 1985, and have been happily married for more than 37 years at this point, during which time they have been residing together as a married pair. Her place of birth was in Wyalusing, Pennsylvania in the United States. Both of her parents, Michael Milarta and Betty (Walters) Milarta, had already passed away before to the birth of their daughter. She completed her high school education at Wyalusing High School, and then went on to enroll in the nursing program at the Robert Packer Hospital School of Nursing. She is currently working toward becoming a registered nurse. She continued on to complete her nursing education at Kutztown University, where she was awarded a bachelor’s degree in nursing after completing the program.
As a registered nurse, she worked at Reading Hospital for the better part of four decades, during which time she provided care to a variety of patients. Wanda was presented with the Department of Medicine Nursing Collaboration Award in May 2019 by Reading Hospital, Tower Health in appreciation of her exceptional work as a nurse. The award was given in celebration of her contributions to the nursing community. Reading Hospital bestowed this honor upon her as a token of their gratitude. She made it a point to see to it that the individual needs of each patient, as well as those of her family members and friends, were met. She also made it a point to make sure that her own needs were met. This innate propensity of hers to look out for the welfare of other people went well beyond the limits of the responsibilities that were related to the work that she was doing.
She took full advantage of the fact that everyone was at home over the holiday break to participate in this activity, which she very much enjoyed doing. Wanda maintained a very good relationship with her coworkers during the length of her 40-year career by spending time with her “beach girls” on a range of trips and activities. This allowed her to keep a close working environment. Because of this, she was able to keep a highly upbeat and productive atmosphere at work. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and tending to her flower gardens in addition to walking, which she found to be the most effective kind of aerobic exercise for her. Her go-to pastime was strolling around the neighborhood.
Her daughter, Kayla Jo Matuszak, as well as her sisters Donna Shook and Lindsey (Milarta) Clark and her husband Ken, as well as her niece Carys Clark and her nephew Gavin Clark, as well as the sister of her husband, Lindsey (Milarta) Clark and her husband Ken, are among those who are able to carry on her legacy. In addition, she is survived by the sister of her husband, Lindsey (Milarta) Clark, and her spouse Ken. Both of them are married.
