Tricia Ofsuryk Obituary, Windsor CT, Woman, 45, dies of injuries sustained in car accident

Tricia Ofsuryk Obituary, Death – Tricia Lynn Ofsuryk, 45, of Granby and formerly of Windsor, devoted wife of Richard James Ofsuryk, Jr. for 11 years and together for over 20 years, died on Saturday, December 31, 2022, as a result of injuries incurred in a vehicle accident. She was born in Hartford, Connecticut on February 17, 1977, the daughter of Adelord “Al” Joseph Cheverier of Southwick, MA and the late Kathleen Marie (Dallaire) Cheverier, and she graduated from Windsor High School in 1995. Tricia spent many years after high school working with mentally challenged kids at River Street School in Windsor.

She had no notion that her time at River Street School was preparing her for the birth of her first child, Paityn, who has SMS, a rare genetic condition. After the birth of their second child, Allie, Tricia returned to school to enhance her education at Westfield State University, where she studied nursing. Tricia worked hard to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and register as a nurse in 2018. Tricia’s natural predisposition as a caregiver and her love of people led her to return to working with children as a school nurse at Littleville Elementary School in Huntington, MA, until she needed to leave to care for her extended family.

Who Was Tricia Ofsuryk

Her dedication, patience, and support for Paityn were genuinely exceptional, and she served as an example for those who care for people with disabilities. Tricia valued her family above all else. She referred to them as her “tribe,” and she was always eager for everyone to be together. Her husband, father, uncle, and children had recently purchased another property in Southwick, MA with the intention of restoring it so that they might all live there someday. Every summer, Tricia and her family enjoyed renovating their home, entertaining family and friends, and going to the beach. Her lovely smile and engaging laugh captivated everyone she encountered.

Tricia will be remembered for her love of life’s basic pleasures, such as spending time with those she cared about, seeing a beautiful sunrise or sunset, and sharing a meal with family and friends. Paityn Kathleen and Allie Marie Ofsuryk, both of Granby, survive her; a nephew, Scott Jeffrey Cheverier, whom she raised after her sister’s death; her paternal uncle, Robert “Uncle Bob” Cheverier of Southwick, MA, who has lived with their family for many years; and her father and mother-in-law, Richard Ofsuryk, Sr. and Donna Ofsuryk of East Granby. Her mother, Kathleen Marie Cheverier, died in 2012; her sister, Tanya Jane Cheverier, died in 2010; and her brother, Ty M. Cheverier, died in 2005.
