Thomas Carolan Obituary, Death – The death of Thomas (Tom) J. Carolan occurred on January 14, 2023, at the age of 51. Tom was born on October 30, 1971, in Brooklyn, New York. He moved to Montvale, New Jersey, with his parents and two brothers when he was a child. He earned his schooling at Our Lady of Mercy Academy in Park Ridge, New Jersey, after graduating from St. Joseph High School in Montvale, New Jersey, where he excelled in baseball and football. He graduated from Siena College in 1993, where he excelled not only academically but also in baseball and football. Tom has worked for a number of different companies throughout his career, beginning with Mercer Management Consulting.
He eventually found a permanent home at SVB Leerink as an equity trader and partner. Tom moved to Hoboken, New Jersey, after graduating from college, and he looked forward to spending his summers along the New Jersey beaches. Tom and Sara first met at the beach, and they married in May of 2000. After spending some time in Rutherford, the couple relocated to Ramsey, where they started a family. Tom’s three kids were the light of his life, and he took great delight in coaching them to success in sports ranging from softball and basketball to lacrosse and soccer.
In addition to being a die-hard Jets and Mets fan, he served on the Ramsey Hotspur FC board of directors. He enjoyed attending St. Joe’s football games and demonstrating his team support, picking horses for the Kentucky Derby, and spending time with his family on Long Beach Island. His wife Sara, daughters Maggie, Bridget, and Tess, his parents Andy and Carol of Montvale, New Jersey, his brother Andrew and sister-in-law Melissa of Ramsey, and his brother Jim and sister-in-law Katie of Ramsey survive him. Tom is also survived by his parents, Andy and Carol of Montvale, New Jersey. His nieces and nephews included Ryan, Kelly, Chris, Matt, Brianne, Teddy, and Anna.
