It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of his passing. Sidney passed away at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre on the tenth day of January in the year 2023, which fell on a Tuesday. He was the son of Sidney “Sunshine” Melanson and Agnes (Edwards) Melanson, both of whom had passed away before the time of his birth at Joggins. His mother and father had both passed away at this point.
Not only was Sidney a devoted husband and parent, but he was also a loving brother, uncle, brother-in-law, great-grandfather, and great-grandfather. He passed away unexpectedly in 2013. In addition to that, he was also a brother-in-law to the person who was his brother-in-law. His wife Helen (Jones), his daughter Sandra (Darren) Anderson, his grandchildren Jessica, Cole, Owen, Daniel, and Marissa, his great-grandchildren Addison and Tara, and his siblings Doris, Joan, Gloria, Janice, Brenda, and Bruce, along with their families, will be profoundly saddened by his passing.
His great-grandchildren Addison and Tara will also mourn him. His great-grandchildren Addison and Tara will miss him greatly and feel a profound loss as a result of his departure. Before he did, his son Paul and two of his brothers, Jackie and Clifford, each went away. His mother and father had passed away before him, and his son Paul had also passed away before him. The Jones Family Funeral Centre, which is located in Amherst at 70 Church Street, is in charge of making the preparations and ensuring that they are carried out properly. They are in charge of and responsible for the administration of the oversight of the arrangements (902-667-8777).
There will be no visitation or funeral service given for Sidney because she expressed a preference for her body to be cremated as the final disposition option for her body. Her ashes have already been burned up at a crematorium.
