Sidney Melanson Obituary, Death – We are saddened to inform you of the demise of Sidney Joseph Melanson, who resided in Joggins and was 81 years old at the time of his passing. It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of his passing. Sidney passed away at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre on the tenth day of January in the year 2023, which fell on a Tuesday. He was the son of Sidney “Sunshine” Melanson and Agnes (Edwards) Melanson, both of whom had passed away before the time of his birth at Joggins. His mother and father had both passed away at this point.

Not only was Sidney a devoted husband and parent, but he was also a loving brother, uncle, brother-in-law, great-grandfather, and great-grandfather. He passed away unexpectedly in 2013. In addition to that, he was also a brother-in-law to the person who was his brother-in-law. His wife Helen (Jones), his daughter Sandra (Darren) Anderson, his grandchildren Jessica, Cole, Owen, Daniel, and Marissa, his great-grandchildren Addison and Tara, and his siblings Doris, Joan, Gloria, Janice, Brenda, and Bruce, along with their families, will be profoundly saddened by his passing.
