Ronald Mitten Obituary, Death – Ronald Monroe Mitten, a resident of Beach Park, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at the age of 89. He was called home to be with the Lord. Francis and Leona (Maybee) Mitten welcomed their son Ron into the world on June 29, 1933 in the town of Huntington, Indiana. During the Korean War, Ron served with honor as a member of the 808th Engineer Aviation Battalion (SCARWAF) of the Army Corps of Engineers.

The lives of Ron and Marilyn were enriched in every way by the arrival of their seven children, who brought them joy, laughter, and an abundance of happy memories. He enjoyed activities such as fishing, camping, hunting, singing country music on his guitar, working on machines, watching old westerns, and camping out in the wilderness. Ron was honored to serve as a Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts of America alongside his sons, and he had been a member of the Catholic Knights of Columbus for a good number of years.

Ron was the epitome of a traditional, hardworking man who was devoted to his faith, his family, and the friendships that would last a lifetime. Those who were familiar with Ron frequently praised him for his dependability, devotion, honor, loyalty, resourcefulness, caring, multitalentedness, knowledge, and inspiring qualities.
