Robert Mello Obituary, Death – Robert Louis Mello, 95, of Roberts, Wisconsin, softly passed away in the company of his loved ones. He was a resident of Wisconsin. He was born in Methuen, Massachusetts, on November 8, 1924, the son of Joseph Mello and Hortense (Raposa) Mello. He was raised in Massachusetts’ Methuen. During World War II, Bob joined the US Navy. He later attended UCLA to obtain his A&P license. He was qualified to do so due to the education he received there. He moved from there and started working as an aviation technician for Northwest Airlines in St. Paul, Minnesota.

On October 28, 1950, Bob and Lucille Capaul tied the knot. They eventually had eight children together: Michael, Judy, Janis, Colleen, Roxanne, Pamela, and Robert. Brian was born later. At this time, Bob kept looking for opportunities to advance his career at NWA and move up the corporate ladder. After working as a mechanic for five years, he was eventually elevated to the position of flight engineer. Bob’s professional career lasted 37 years, during which time he flew 747s to several locations on every continent. After retiring in 1984, Bob enjoyed taking trips, flying his plane, working on the land, and spending time with his family.

He also loved going on vacation. Together with Lucille, he crossed the nation, making stops in all 49 states while wintering in Florida. Bob’s children Michael Carr, Judy (Ted) Schieffer, Janis (Donald) Bock, Colleen (Steve) Anderson, Roxanne (Bob) Rapp, Pamela (Jerry) Katner, and Brian Mello will cherish their memories of him together with his 15 grandchildren. He has children named Michael Carr, Judy (Ted) Schieffer, Janis (Donald) Bock, Colleen (Steve) Anderson, and Rox. Joshua Bock, Phillip and Brittany Bock, Lucas and Christine Bock, Ryan Anderson (Alexis), Steve and Cait Anderson.

Aaron and Laura Rapp, Justin and Megan Rapp, Laura Rapp, Michael and Samantha Brintton Simon (Cailey), Colton Simon, Adeline Simon, Zackary Tronrud, Camilla and Ryan Johansen, Matthew Schieffer, Tonya Schieffer (who has since passed away), His wife Lucille, son Robert Sr., sisters Theresa and Eleanor, brother Bernard, and granddaughter Tonya Schieffer all passed away before him. He was the only surviving member of his direct family. More than anyone else in his immediate family, he had managed to live.
