Richard Sommerfeld Obituary, Death – The writing of this post is taking place in the midst of a great deal of melancholy on our part. One of our former employees has left this world and moved on to the next. Richard Sommerfeld was taken away from us on the third of January, a Tuesday. Rich was a part of our sales team which was incredibly crucial for well over a decade, during which time he served in that capacity. Customers were attracted to him as a result of his friendly demeanor and sensitive approach. He was not your usual representative in the sales department at all. He made it a point to emphasize to each and every one of his customers how critical a role they played in his business at all times.
Rich would take the time to write notes on each customer, which would include their birthdates, the names of their spouses and children, as well as their interests and jobs so that when the customer came to the dealership, the conversation from before could be picked up where it left off. When it was his customers’ birthdays or other special occasions, he made it a point to give them a call and send them birthday cards. He was very attentive to detail. This is something that, if you have ever shopped at Rich’s previously, you are well aware of!
Richard never skipped a beat when it came to advocating on behalf of his customers. He was an excellent example of how we would like all of our clients to be catered to, and he functioned in that capacity for us. Customers of his routinely brought to our attention the manner in which he made them feel valued on both a professional and personal level.
Richard was a very loyal employee and person in general, therefore his absence will be felt by a lot of people. He will be missed. Our heartfelt condolences go out to Richard’s family, as well as to all of the neighbors and friends he made while he was staying at our home. We are thankful that over the years we have been able to count you as a friend, recruit you for a job, and have the opportunity to work with you.
