Peter Basterfield Obituary, Death – The passing of PETER BASTERFIELD is a source of great sadness for me, and I regret having to be the one to break the news to you today. Despite the strain it places on my shoulders, I have no choice but to fulfill my commitment. This morning, after a long and arduous battle against disease, he lost his battle and passed away at the nursing home where he had been a resident for the past two years.
He had been fighting this condition for quite some time. He had been struggling against it for a considerable amount of time. For a very considerable amount of time, he had been putting up resistance against the effects of his disease. Peter, who has been a birder for the past sixty decades, served as the leader of a number of Birdfinder expeditions that were organized by Vaughan Ashby.
For the previous sixty decades, Vaughan Ashby has enjoyed the hobby of birdwatching. Peter had devoted the most of his time over the course of the previous six decades to his pastime of birdwatching. May the Most High God bless him, and may his spirit forever rest in peace; may it be so. I pray that that is so.
Best wishes, and I really hope everything works out for you in the end! Sandeep Ghosh. Hearing it only makes the pain that I’m already feeling in my chest even worse. When I was a kid, my parents took me on a few vacations that ended up being some of the most exhilarating and formative events of my whole life.
These vacations were taken by Peter and Vaughan. Those summer breaks will remain ingrained in my memory forever. Peter was an incredible person, and Vaughan and I had a wonderful time on our Birdfinders trips thanks to the chances that they presented to us. I shall never forget Peter.
