Nick Chavez Obituary, Prominent hairstylist and entrepreneur dies at 66

Nick Chavez Obituary, Death – Nick Chavez, a prominent hairstylist and entrepreneur, died at the age of 66 on Friday, December 23, 2022, at his Beverly Hills home.  Nick, who is originally from Arizona, began his vocation as a hairstylist in Southern California, where he worked under a prominent hairdresser who catered to many celebrities and high-profile personalities. After working as a model and actor, he opened his own salon in Beverly Hills. Nick also has his own hair care line, Nick Chavez Beverly Hills.

Nick Chavez, born in Yuma, Arizona in 1956, has always had a fascination with beauty, haircare, and spiritual living. His ancestors are Yaqui and Quechan Indians, and his family is Mexican-American. Nick, the second eldest of seven siblings, helped his family on their ranch on a regular basis. Nick Chavez also learned “holistic healing practices from his Yaqui Grandmother,” according to his official website.  Nick’s regular grooming of the family horses piqued his interest in his natural scissor skills, and he soon began making “stylish and trendy” hairstyles for his siblings and extended relatives.

In 1977, he traveled to Southern California as a young adult and began his apprenticeship in a prominent Beverly Hills salon, soon rising to the position of full-fledged hairdresser. His abilities quickly drew attention to him, and he now has a large clientele and an even larger reputation. In his late twenties, the hairstylist put his career on hold to work as a model and actor. He modeled for Jean Paul Gaultier, Yves St. Laurent, and Valentino on his European tour. Many of Nick’s picture assignments were successful, with many of them appearing on the covers of publications including Vogue, GQ, Elle, and Esquire, as well as on a 100-foot billboard in Times Square.

He has appeared in TV shows such as The Young and the Restless, Hollywood Detectives, and numerous advertisements. When Nick returned to Beverly Hills in 1997, he opened his own salon, which was an immediate hit. Among his clientele were Margeaux Hemmingway, Lisa Hartmann, and Belinda Carlisle. Nicholas Chavez Beverly Hills was founded in 1999 in response to his struggle to find the greatest products for his consumers. His goal was to have great, healthy hair in order to achieve the “Every Day Gorgeous” look. The products are available both online and through home shopping channels such as QVC in the United States and internationally. Nick’s amazing “hair and makeover improvements” led him repeated appearances on talk shows such as E! Fashion Emergency and Extreme Makeovers.
