Nicholas Goffredo Obituary, Death – Theresa A. (nee-Payne) Goffredo died on Monday, December 19th, 2022, at home. She was 80 years old. Terry Payne was born in Paterson, New Jersey to John and Philomena (nee-Chick) Payne and spent most of his childhood in Totowa. In 1980, she married her life’s love, Joseph, and the couple moved to Lincoln Park. Terry spent 29 years at Brogan Cadillac in Totowa before moving on to Par-Troy Funeral Home, where she was much more than just the office manager. Terry was the epitome of commitment. She was always there for her family, especially her mother and aunt, who she cared for as they grew older, as well as her husband, Joe, who was ill. She was Irene’s dependable companion throughout it all. They completed everything as a group.
They were like two peas in a pod, whether they were visiting Notre Dame to attend mass or watch their favorite football team, strolling along the Clearwater Beach boardwalk, crabbing and fishing off the dock at the Jersey Shore, or simply finishing each other’s thoughts and comments. Her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, who all said she was like a second mother and grandmother to them, must have felt the gap of not hearing her voice, laughter, or funny comments that might inspire a chuckle at any time as the days passed. Terry was a devoted Roman Catholic who adored the Virgin Mary. She made a point of attending mass, whether online or in person.
Joseph, her beloved husband, and her parents, John and Philomena Payne, died before her. Gina Snyder and her husband, David, Renee Richardson and her husband, Christopher, Kristen Marucci and her husband, Carlo, and Ronald DiMaggio II and his wife, Jennifer are among her cherished nieces and nephews, as are Jacqueline, Olivia, Jack, Giancarlo, Madison, Gianni, Mason, Sofia, Savanna, Stella, and Brady. Her funeral will be conducted at the Par-Troy Funeral Home, 95 Parsippany Road, Parsippany, on Friday, January 6th, 2023, at 8:45 a.m. (973)887-3235 or www.partroyfuneralhome.com. He was laid to rest at Totowa’s Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, with her Christian Burial Liturgy to be held at Saint Ann R.C. Church, 781 Smith Road, Parsippany, at 10:00 a.m. Visiting hours will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday, January 5th, 2023 from 4:00-7:00 p.m.
