Milly Thompson, Talented Artist Milly Thompson has passed away

Milly Thompson Obituary, Death –  The death of Mildred Anne (Kraehling) Thompson, who passed away quietly at the age of 85 with her family by her side, is being announced with sorrowful hearts by the family of Mildred Anne (Kraehling) Thompson. Her children, daughter Kelly Thompson (Cheryl), son Jim Thompson (Denise), and her cherished grandkids, Mitchell Thompson (Michelle), Matthew Thompson, and Cole Thompson, will miss Millie very much. Her children will remember her with love. Millie is survived by her brother in law Bill Thompson (Mona), her sister in law Shirley Kraehling, as well as a large number of relatives, nieces, and nephews, as well as a large number of close friends.

Millie’s parents, George and Edith Kraehling, as well as her brothers Jim and Jack Kraehling, husband Richard Thompson, son David Thompson, and sister Lynne Donylyk all passed away before she did. Following her graduation from Geraldton High School, Millie relocated to Winnipeg in order to continue her nursing education at the Winnipeg General Hospital and become a registered nurse. After receiving her diploma, Millie joined the Navy and worked as a S/LT medical nurse on the HMCS Chippawa, which was based in Esquimalt, British Columbia. After relocating back to Geraldton.

Millie wed Richard on the 22nd of December, 1960, and the couple went on to have three children together. In the years leading up to her relocation to Dryden in 1977, Millie worked as a registered nurse at the Geraldton General Hospital. As a maternity nurse at the Dryden Regional Health Centre, Millie was responsible for delivering a large number of children into the world. Millie’s final job was at Patricia Gardens, where she had been employed for the previous four decades.

Millie’s retirement years were filled with many exciting travel experiences around the world, many of which she shared with her sister Lynne and other close friends. Her travels took her to a variety of locations in North America and Europe, including Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Fiji, Scotland, England, Egypt, Greece, Portugal, and Spain, as well as many more countries.

Millie’s interests included talking about her trips through stories and images, as well as her love of music and literature. Genealogy was her greatest interest, and it provided her a lot of excitement and joy. She spent a lot of time tracing her family tree and finding and visiting numerous relatives all over Canada. Millie led a rich and meaningful life that had a profound impact on the lives of many people.
