Mike Lawrence Obituary, Mike Lawrence Has Passed Away

Mike Lawrence Obituary, Death – It breaks my heart to tell you that our friend Mike Lawrence died on Friday night. I’m sorry for what happened. I’m sorry I’m the one who has to give you all the bad news. Please accept my deepest condolences. He was one of my two “grumpy old men” and one of my two favorite people in the whole wide world. There are wonderful people everywhere in the universe. People started calling them “Statler and Waldorf” because of this.

Mike, who played Statler, would often stop by his best friend John Dickersen’s house every day for lunch when they were both working on the show. On Sunday mornings, I used to make Mr. Mike a special breakfast with eggs, bacon, and toast. Mr. Mike would be the only person at this breakfast. He was always sharp-witted and sarcastic, and he made sure I would never forget that I had left his favorite chocolate cake in his trunk. He did this by making sure that I would never forget what I had forgotten.

He never let me forget that mistake. Our friendship was unusual because we were more than 50 years apart, but I grew to love that person very much, and I will always be grateful that I was able to look past his “grumpy” face and find a great friend in him. We hadn’t seen each other in more than fifty years, which added to the strangeness of our relationship. Mike, we want you to know that we will miss all the laughs you’ve given us over the years and that we will always love you very much. We also want you to know how much we’ll miss all the laughs you’ve given us over the years.
