Michael Kirchner Obituary, Death – Michael Kirchner, 52 years old, passed away suddenly at home on January 17, 2023. He was welcomed into the world by his parents, William Francis and Jean Marie (Crowley) Kirchner, in Toledo on July 9, 1970. Growing up in Toledo, Mike spent most of his time in school participating in Boy Scouting activities. He needed two palms to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout, which he did. Mike also took part in swimming contests that the YMCA held. In 1988, he graduated from high school with a diploma from E.L. Bowsher. He joined the US Navy after completing his high school education and was based in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, where he worked as a nuclear technician and machinist mate. He served in the Navy from 1993 to 1993 before going on to The Ohio State University to earn a degree in Agriculture Business.
In 1998, he received this degree. He was an active member of the Delta Upsilon Fraternity at Ohio State University. Mike attended the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science and graduated in 1999 with an Associate of Science in Mortuary Services. Funeral services were his area of study. He began working for Peinert Funeral Homes in 2003 and continued there until the day of his death. Peinert Funeral Homes is now known as Peinert-Dunn Funeral Homes. His coworkers and the other businesspeople in his field became some of his closest friends as he got to know them very well. Given that Mike worked in the funeral industry, he was a member of a number of associations for funeral directors, including the National Funeral Directors Association, the Ohio Funeral Directors Association, and the Northwest Ohio Funeral Directors Association.
Mike was a person who was very interested in both historical and contemporary topics. He frequently visited the museums in Washington, DC, while on vacation. His parents, William and Jean (Crowley) Kirchner, sister Kimberly Kirchner, nephew Tyler Ellis, and numerous other aunts, uncles, and cousins make up his immediate family. His family is still around. Mike’s memorial service will be held at the Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home, 6603 Providence Street, Whitehouse, Ohio 43571, on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at noon. Pastor Warren Clifton will preside over the ceremony. The interment will take place in the Toledo Memorial Park in Sylvania, Ohio, after the memorial service. The funeral home will be accessible for visitations on Tuesday morning starting at ten and running until the ceremony at twelve.
