Megan Hornbuckle Obituary, Death – The demise of a childhood friend occurred unexpectedly this past week. We continued to go to the same church throughout all of our schooling, from elementary school all the way through college, and it was during this time that we made some of the memories that we will cherish the most. She had a big personality, a compassionate heart, a huge laugh, and a voice that was anointed, all of which combined to make her the kind of person who drew people in. Whenever the three of us were in the same room, one of two things was happening: either we were giggling uncontrollably or we were leading worship with an unrestrained sense of abandon.
Although it breaks my heart to think about the difficult experiences she had to go through during her brief adulthood and the tragic way in which she left this world, I can’t help but rejoice in the knowledge that she is completely free, whole, and healed in the arms of Jesus. My heart aches for her. During this moment in which we are lamenting her passing, I am convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt that she is experiencing unending joy in the presence of God. The song that can be found below was written specifically for our youth group many years ago and was performed and recorded by all of us when we were just teenagers.

I had no idea how grateful I would be to have this recording of her lovely voice, and I felt compelled to show her family and friends how much it meant to me that they could hear it. The words have always carried a great deal of significance, but in this day and age, it is much easier to perceive how accurately they are conveyed. It would appear that she has found what she was looking for. She is now rejoicing and laughing with our Lord and Savior, and we will soon have the opportunity to do the same with her again.
