Maria Hernandez Obituary, Death – A 74-year-old woman was discovered dead in her home on the Upper West Side with both her wrists and feet bound. A homicide investigation is currently underway as a result. On Wednesday evening, just before 10 o’clock, police were called to the residence of the victim located on West 83rd Street. Under a mountain of dirty laundry, they discovered Maria Hernandez unconscious with her wrists and feet bound together. A wellness check was performed by Maria Terrero, who is Hernandez’s sister. She was the one who found the victim. Both of them had just returned from an evening spent with the other. “We’ll discuss tomorrow when I see you tomorrow,” Terrero remarked. “She said, ‘good night.’ I said, ‘we’ll chat tomorrow.'”
Towards the later hours of Wednesday night, the victim’s daughter gave Terrero a call. “She said, ‘we keep calling my mom and she doesn’t answer the phone,’ I said, ‘oh, I think it’s OK, but, anyhow, let me go and check on her,’ and that’s when I found the problem,” Terrero said. “She said, ‘we keep calling my mom and she doesn’t answer the phone The flat showed no evidence of having been broken into, and the authorities are unsure whether or not anything was taken because they are still investigating. “She was a model of what it means to be a good person. A beautiful lady. She is the epitome of what it is to be a good person; she is loving, compassionate, and kind in equal measure “Terrero stated.
According to the police, her death may have been the consequence of a failed robbery attempt, and the suspect may have tried to conceal their tracks by stealing the building’s CCTV equipment before they killed her. Even though there were no indications that the victim’s apartment had been broken into, it appeared that someone had broken into the building’s basement in order to steal the surveillance film. The detectives are undertaking a comprehensive search of the surveillance systems located in the surrounding areas as part of their investigation into whether or not the incidents are connected. Even though there was no evident evidence of trauma, investigators assume that she may have suffered some internal injuries and are treating her death as a possible homicide investigation.
