Maria Fantauzzi Obituary, Resident Of Mechanicville, Has Died

Maria Fantauzzi Obituary, Death – Maria F. Fantauzzi, who had lived the majority of her life in Mechanicville and died in the Glens Falls Center on January 12, 2023 at the age of 81 following a brief illness, had been a long-time resident of the town. She was a 1959 Mechanicville High School graduate and the daughter of Daniel Fantauzzi and Christine Iannucci Fantauzzi, both of whom died before her. She was born in Troy, New York on September 6, 1941. Marie is her given name, and she graduated from the Mildred Elley Business School in 1961 with a diploma. She worked for the New York State Department of Education’s Licensure Division for more than 38 years, and she was really enthusiastic about both her job and the subject. Her career extended the entirety of her tenure on the field.

She was instrumental in the office’s transition to more modern computer equipment that was available on the market at the time. This shift, which was an important aspect of the office’s modernisation process, was made feasible in great part by her efforts. Marie formerly served as the Junior Dante Club’s president, a position she attained after many years of dedication to the organization. She was a devout Catholic who had spent her entire life as a member of New York’s All Saints on the Hudson Parish. She was an active participant in the church’s Faith Formation program, and the yearly retreats she went would be remembered in her thoughts and prayers for the rest of her life. In addition, Marie was a huge Walt Disney and Looney Tunes fan.

Both of Marie’s parents had died before her, as had the girl who had been her closest friend her whole life, Sylvia D’Alberto. Her brother Damian Fantauzzi and his wife Ann, as well as her sister Ann Millett and her husband Bob in Bath, Pennsylvania, survive her. Damian Fantauzzi, her brother, and his wife Ann survive her. Her nieces and nephews Zachary Fantauzzi, Caitlyn Stocking, Danielle Heimsoth, and Courtney Millett survive her, as do her great-nieces and great-nephews Isabelle, Anthony, and Remi. Isabelle, Anthony, and Remi, her great-nieces and great-nephews, survive her. Marie was also survived by a large number of Sylvia’s family members, all of whom treated her as if she were a member of their own family and for whom Marie had a great deal of affection.

Sylvia’s family had always regarded Marie as if she were one of their own. A funeral ceremony will be held at All Saints on the Hudson Church (St. Paul’s), located at 121 No. Main Street in Mechanicville. The memorial service will be held on Saturday at noon. The interment will take place at St. Paul’s Cemetery following the end of the service. Prior to the start of the service on Saturday, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., there will be a calling hour in the church from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Donations can be made in memory of the deceased to All Saints on the Hudson, which is located at 52 William Street in Mechanicville. Donations to this church can be offered in lieu of flowers. Make a note of “All Saints on the Hudson” in the memo line of your cheque.
