Lewis Thorne Obituary, Death – All of us here at HCPCC are grieving the loss of our dear friend and fellow board director, Lewis Thorne, whose passing has left us all with shattered hearts. We ask that you join us in praying for his wife Nancy, as well as all of their children and grandchildren, and we would be grateful if you would do so right now. What a magnificent example he is of what love ought to be like and how one ought to conduct their life; what a wonderful legacy he has left behind for those who follow in his footsteps. “It is so difficult to write these words, but the reality is starting to set in that on Wednesday, after a sudden medical event at home, Lewis Thorne closed his eyes on this earth and opened them to behold Jesus Christ, his savior. It is starting to set in that on Wednesday, Lewis Thorne closed his eyes on this earth and opened them to behold Jesus Christ. The news that Lewis Thorne is no longer in pain and has been welcomed into the presence of Jesus Christ is slowly seeping in. Even though we are in a state of grieving, we find solace in the knowledge that he is now in a better place and that we will someday be able to be with him again.
He has always been a competitor, so he has a strong desire to be in first place in everything, and he has once again achieved this objective! 1 Thessalonians 4:13 reads, “We do not want you to be misinformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, so that you may not weep as others do who have no hope.” This is because we do not want you to grieve in the same way as those who have no hope. We do not want you to be illiterate because we do not want you to suffer the same kind of sorrow as other people who are hopeless.
