Leon L’Hirondelle Obituary, A Resident Has Passed Away

Leon L’Hirondelle Obituary, Death – Leon L’Hirondelle had been a resident of Saddle Lake for the preceding 55 years at the time of his passing on January 15, 2023. He had been a resident of the house up until the day before he passed away. He had reached the age where he could legitimately step down from his position. He is survived by his common-law partner of 30 years, Doris Steinhauer; his son, Sheldon Steinhauer; his step-children, Miranda “Holly” Steinhauer, Rebecca Lynn Steinhauer (Cody Powder), and Drayton James Steinhauer; his grandson, Jermaine Jerome, as well as numerous other grandchildren; his sisters, Evelyn “Kate” Marie Cardinal and Faedra Steinhauer; and numerous other grandchildren.

He passed away on January 15, 2019. The 15th of January 2019 was the day he died away. Theresa Ann (Alvin) Steinhauer, his mother, and Theresa Lee, his grandmother, both went away before he did. A substantial number of her nieces and nephews, in addition to her sister Mary L’Hirondelle and her brother Stan Francis (Amy) L’Hirondelle, are among the members of her extended family who have survived her death. Her sister Mary L’Hirondelle also predeceased her. His daughter Chantel Jerome, son Leon Shawn Steinhauer, mother Irene Cardinal (née Whiskeyjack), father Stanley L’Hirondelle Sr., and brother Kurt Takakinaw all passed away prior to Leon’s departure.

n memory of the Ayiwakes community member who passed away, a Wake will be held on the 26th of January at the Ayiwakes Cultural Centre at Saddle Lake. Those who are going are strongly advised to gather in Grace Gardens at eleven in the morning in order to travel there. The meeting point for the trip is there. A funeral service will be held on Friday, the 27th of January, at one o’clock in the afternoon at the Ayiwakes Cultural Centre, which is located close to Saddle Lake. The date and time of the service are as follows: The funeral or memorial service is being held in memory of a beloved ancestor, close friend, or both who recently passed away.
