Laura Thorsen Obituary, Death – During this trying time in their lives as a result of the death of their loved one, the family of Laura Thorsen, who taught at Strandwood Elementary and passed away not too long ago, has the unwavering support of the Mt. Diablo Unified School District. Laura Thorsen taught at Strandwood Elementary before she passed away. The principal of Strandwood Elementary School, Cheri Scripter, paid tribute to Laura Thorsen, who passed away on December 23 after a courageous battle against cancer.
After a valiant and protracted struggle against the illness, Thorsen lost his fight and passed away. Thorsen was a coworker who had a lot of fans at both the Ygnacio Valley Elementary School and the Strandwood Elementary School. Both of these elementary schools are located in California. Scripter called Thorsen “one of MDUSD’s greatest” individuals on more than one occasion. In a note that was delivered to the homes of Strandwood students and their families on January 11th, Principal Scripter wrote, “She was a talented and adored teacher and a wonder-filled person.” “She was a wondrous being in her own right.
She shone a bright light on classrooms and staff meetings with the genuine love she had for the profession of teaching, as well as with the profound and sincere commitment she had to each and every pupil entrusted to her care. Her love for the profession of teaching and her dedication to her students made her a shining example for her colleagues.” Anyone who would like to pay their respects to their loved one on the occasion of her death is welcome to do so at the funeral of their loved one on Sunday, February 5 from three to six o’clock in the afternoon. This invitation has been issued by the Thorsen family. The memorial service will be held at Saint Matthew Lutheran Church in Walnut Creek, which can be found at 399 Wiget Lane.
