Joseph Fumu Kasende Jr Obituary, Death – Joseph Fumu Kasende Jr. was 18 years old when he went to be with his Eternal Father God Almighty on Monday, January 9, 2023. Joseph, also known as “Joe,” “Jojo,” “Babou,” and “Bobef,” was more important to his family and friends than he could ever grasp. He was the son of Francine Mwamba Kasongo- Kasende of Frederick, Maryland, and Joseph Fumu Kasende, Sr. of Atlanta, Georgia. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia on December 21, 2004.

During his senior year of high school, Joseph was an Advanced Placement student and athlete at Paul Lawrence Dunbar High School in Baltimore-City, Maryland. During the fall season in which he played, he was a member of the football team that won their eleventh consecutive championship as Maryland State Champions. He used to play football at Governor Thomas Johnson High School in Frederick, Maryland, where he had previously attended. He had a keen ear and could play the violin without using printed music.

He was obsessed with going to the gym and working out. Joseph’s late-night activities included playing Mario on the Nintendo Switch, hanging out with his friends, and visiting the Sheetz petrol station for some late-night snacks. He was always nice and humble, and he motivated everyone he met with his high expectations of himself and passion to succeed. His siblings Gaetan-Alexandre Kasende, Francesca-Aline Kasende, Marie-Ange Kasende, Amandine-Veronique Kasende, Jean-Marcel Kasende, and Grace Marie-Aimee Kasende survive him, as do his grandparents Jean-Marcel and Pelagie Kasongo, and his uncles Francois Kasende, Louis Kasende, Jean-Pierre Kasende, Victor Kasende, Emile Kasende, and Eddy Kasende.

The family will entertain their guests at 101 Maroon Ct in Frederick, Maryland. St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, located at 8428 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, Maryland, will hold a Catholic Christian funeral service on Saturday, January 21st, 2023 at 10:00 AM. The ritual will signal the start of the burial procedure. Deacon Jeff Sutterman will officiate the event. The interment will take place at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick, Maryland.
