Johnston Robert Obituary, Death – JOHNSTON, ROBERT “BOB,” died away in a tranquil and peaceful manner on January 3, 2023, at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. He was surrounded by his beloved family members at the time of his passing. He was the loving husband of the late Carole Johnston (Coll) for 46 years, the dedicated father of Lennie (Tracy), Shane, and Derek (Kelly) Johnston, and the proud grandfather of Shelby and Cole Johnston. Carole Johnston (Coll) passed away in 2010. In 2012, his cherished wife Carole Johnston (also known as Coll) passed away. Bill Johnston (Margie) and Barb Hansen (the late spouse Harry) are his siblings, and he leaves behind a large number of nieces, nephews, and other members of his extended family who will miss him greatly.
Bob Johnston spent the first half of his life as the proprietor of a local business and engaged in a significant amount of volunteer work in the community in the town of Ridgetown, Ontario, where he was born and raised. He will be fondly remembered by the many people he met and worked with during those five decades. Bob Johnston’s parents, the late Clayt and Agnes Johnston, gave him life in Chatham, Ontario. Both of his parents had left this world by this point. Clayt Johnston Motors is a thriving school bus and the automotive dealership that was established by Bob, along with his father and brother. Bob also served as a volunteer firefighter for the Ridgetown Fire Department for a considerable amount of time.
He served in this capacity for a considerable amount of time. Bob enjoyed a wide range of hobbies, such as golf, reading, traveling (especially on his yearly holidays to Florida), and automobiles; nevertheless, the time he spent with his loved ones and friends was the thing he treasured the most. His dry sense of humor, contagious laugh, and kind grin are qualities that will be sorely missed. Bob had already stated that he wanted his body to be cremated, and he also asked for a private memorial service to be performed at a later date.
