John Mcgarry Obituary, Death – John Mcgarry has sadly passed away. He was born on March 3rd, in Warren, Pennsylvania to Paul E. McGarry and Marie Beam McGarry. Their only kid was John. His entire life had been spent in the Warren region, where he now lived. John attended Warren High School and Penn State University, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He graduated from Warren High School in 1950 and from Penn State the following year. Even though he was 90 years old, he was still productive in his profession as a real estate agent at Howard Hanna Professionals, where he had worked for a long time.
In addition to owning and operating McGarry Photography Studio, John had previously worked in the financial services field as an insurance broker, stockbroker, and real estate broker. He attended Holy Redeemer R.C. Church and was a member of the Warren Knights of Columbus, which is a fraternal organization. He belonged to various local groups, including the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club, the Conewango Club, the Warren Eagles Aerie, and the old Warren Exchange Club. He was also a founder member of what was then known as the Exchange Club of Warren. We could not have been as successful as we were without John’s efforts to the Four Flags Ceremonies held during the Memorial Day weekend.
He was a die-hard fan of both the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pittsburgh Pirates. John was a voracious reader who also enjoyed tennis and skiing. He spent a significant amount of time outside. John’s sole living relatives are his daughter Pamela McGarry and his life companion of 38 years, Nancy Clavin, both of whom live in Warren, Pennsylvania. Nancy’s daughters, Trish Ewalt and her husband Matt, as well as their grandson Connor, who live in Jamestown, New York; Pat Esterbrook and her husband Craig, who live in Warren, Pennsylvania; and Nancy’s other daughter, Cathy, who lives in New Jersey.
