Jimmy Buchakjian Obituary, Death – We have all entered a state of severe depression as a direct result of this as the news of the passing of the cherished Jimmy “Buck” Buchakjian was brought to our attention, which led to our becoming aware of his death, and as a consequence of this, we are all in a state of grief as a direct result of this. Jimmy was a member of the Greater Overbrook String Band for more than three decades before he became a member of the Durning String Band. Prior to becoming a member of the Durning String Band, Jimmy was a member of the Greater Overbrook String Band. During the era that he was a part of Overbrook, he served in a number of leadership posts, including that of officer, customer, and backpiece designer, amongst others.
It was a tremendous privilege to get the chance to talk with him and hear him reflect on his seven-decade-long career as a mummer while at the same time engaging in discussion with him. The fact that we were given the chance to do so was already a gift in and of itself. During this difficult time, the Buchakjian family is on our minds, and we want them to know that they have our total and unyielding support. We are thinking of them and holding them close in our hearts. Please remember them in your prayers and keep them in your thoughts. This picture was taken at the Mummer Museum quite some time ago, and it shows GOSB presenting Jimmy with the Hall of Fame plaque that was in appreciation of Jimmy’s induction into the Hall of Fame.
