Jett Gleason Obituary, Death – Jett James Michael Gleason, our big-rig-loving boy, passed away on January 7, 2023, leaving us heartbroken. His parents, Jeremy and Kelsey (Evershed) Gleason, as well as his big sister and best friend, Pyper, survive him. His parents, Mammou and Pappou, Brenda and Jim Evershed, G-Ma and G-Dad, Sue and Rick Chevalier, and Nana and Papa, Barb and Mike Gleason, will be devastated. Jett’s Auntie Hayley (Evershed) and fellow truck enthusiast, Uncle “Dee,” Dylan Douglas, his Aunt Ashley Chevalier, cousin Farrah, and a boy cousin, Baby Douglas, who was due in June, are also survivors. Yogi Boy and Luce, his fur siblings, will never forget his kisses.
We’ll never see another goal without hearing his little voice exclaim “Goal!” or seeing him recklessly throw his stick and hands above his head again. Drives in the car will be filled with memories of him yelling “Vroom!” and signaling with his hands that he was about to rev up the engine. Jett loved hats, and wearing one reminds us of his cuddly little spirit. We know that our JettBoy felt the unconditional love of countless friends and family members and that his infectious smile, blonde curls, and big, blue eyes touched many of their lives, despite the fact that his time with us was cut short for unknown reasons.
The family would like to express gratitude to the nursing staff at Carleton Place Hospital, as well as all of the first responders who arrived at our home, for their efforts to save our Baby Boy. We also want to thank Dr. Walker for his compassion and sensitivity, as well as Alan R. Barker Funeral Home for their compassion and care during this senseless tragedy. The kindness and company of so many friends and strangers have overwhelmed the family. Everyone who has contacted them has been extremely helpful. Thank you to everyone who cooked, sent flowers, shoveled their laneway, and helped with other “extras.” We will be eternally grateful to every single one of you.
Rather than flowers, the family requests that others hug their babies even tighter, read an extra bedtime story, and smile the next time they clean up a spill at the dinner table. Friends are invited to pay their respects to the family on Friday, January 27th, 2023, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Alan R. Barker Funeral Home, 19 McArthur Avenue, Carleton Place.
