Janet Razzano Obituary, Longtime Watervliet Resident Has Died

Janet Razzano Obituary, Death – Janet A. (Bak) Razzano passed from this life on January 5, 2023 at the age of 88, holding her husband’s hand. Janet, was born in Troy on October 28, 1934 to loving parents Charles and Pauline (Zaremski) Bak. Her twin brother, Richard, passed away at birth and Janet always held him close to her heart. She was a lifelong Watervliet resident where she received her education at the former School 8 and Watervliet High School. On November 19, 1955, Janet was married to the love of her life, Vincent D. Razzano Jr. in the former Immaculate Conception Church in Watervliet, now the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.

Together they enjoyed 67 years of marriage, and they were blessed with six children; Vincent D. Razzano, III (Gerry), Daniel G. Razzano (Tricia), Jeffrey C. Razzano, Richard Razzano, Lisa M. DelGiacco (James) and Diane M. Rock (Will Gonzalez). Janet devoted the early years of married life to her home and raising her family. She later worked outside of her home as a part-time merchandiser at Edwards Food Market in Latham. Janet loved spending time with family at their camp at Burden Lake. She loved the holidays with family and cherished the Christmas Season. Janet also enjoyed baking, decorating cakes for her family and friends, teaching others how to make sugar eggs, creating fancy Easter baskets which she filled with homemade candies, time spent at the Watervliet Senior Center, taking bus trips as well as attending performances at the Mac-Haydn Theater.

She was devout in her Catholic faith and was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Watervliet, where she was a member of the Ladies Guild until it closed. Then, became a communicant of St. Anthony’s in Troy. In addition to her husband and children, she is survived by her grandchildren, Erin M. Latham (Steve), Adam G. Razzano, Joseph V. Razzano (Danielle); Daniel G. Razzano (Victoria), Dominic J. Razzano, and Brianna N. Razzano; Jeffrey Razzano, II, Tara Lennox; Lexie Martin (Joseph), Toni M. DelGiacco, Bianca M. DelGiacco and Zachary V. Rock; nine great grandchildren, her sister, Dolores Thompson (Fred) of Edgewood, MD and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
