Lightfoot, JR., a former member of our church who had left on January 5 but appeared to no longer be with us, is in truth no longer with us. I only discovered this out quite lately. This is something that I’ve just recently started to grasp. It was as if he had abandoned us with the idea that he was no longer there. This was the impression we were left with. This knowledge is pretty fresh to me right now, and it was just brought to my attention. I had no prior notice of it. When I gave it any thought at all, I couldn’t help but get a sick feeling in the very pit of my stomach. It was as if my stomach were turning inside out. The instant that I was made aware of it, I was overcome with a feeling of dread that spread throughout my entire body.

Following his departure, the Friday of the week prior was devoted to paying honor to his life by hosting a funeral service in addition to a memorial service. This was done in honor of the departed. When we last saw him, he was in the overflow portion of the sanctuary, which is located in a different part of the church than the main sanctuary itself. He was placed in the very first row of that section.
The issue has not improved despite the fact that it has been a large length of time since he was spotted at this place, and despite the fact that it is becoming less likely that he is still present there. During this sad time, we are keeping his wife of 64 years, Vivian, as well as his four daughters and six grandchildren in our thoughts and prayers.
