Hunter McPeak Obituary, Members of Trinity Baptist Church, Idabel, mourn the death of Hunter McPeak

Hunter McPeak Obituary, Death – Hunter Richard Douglas McPeak was welcomed home and into the presence of his Lord on December 31, 2022, when he was 19 years old. On September 5, 2003, Sarah Hairrell (McPeak) and Bo McPeak welcomed a son named Hunter. He was a proud Idabel Warrior Football Team player and a 2022 graduate of Idabel High School. After graduating, Hunter enrolled in the Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology to pursue a career as an electrician. Hunter participated in the 3n1 Ministries at Trinity Baptist Church in Idabel, where he was a member. Hunter cared deeply about people. Only his chuckle could compete with the size and brightness of his smile. He delighted in making others laugh. He was naughty, a joy to be around, and so full of life. Hunter has resisted death. While we are glad for Hunter’s salvation, we also know that he continues to live on via the unselfish gift of life that he gave to over 70 people through his organ and tissue donations.

Hunter is loved and mourned by his parents, Bo and Diedra McPeak of the Pollard Community, Sarah Hairrell and Shannon Daves of Idabel. Hunter was the third of four kids. All of his siblings loved him, and he reciprocated. He leaves behind Madielyn McPeak, his sister, and his two brothers, Rylan McPeak and Brendan Ashalintubbi. Hunter had the good fortune to have a large extended family who loved him, including Marilyn and Richard McPeak of the Pollard Community, Nita and Doug Hairrell of Clayton, Oklahoma, Brenda and Kelsie Keeney of Idabel, and Luanne and Gabe Daves of Valliant. His aunts and uncles, Mark and Brittany McPeak, Sonya and Curtis Morris, Penny and Jessie Sharrah, Mandy and Casey Daniel, Misty and Jimmy Ward, Trudy and Dusty Daves, Lane and Michelle Ashalintubbi, Matt Ashalintubbi, and D’Anna Ashalintubbi, as well as a large number of cousins and friends, are all preserving his memory. Hunter was predeceased by his maternal great-grandparents, Gene and LaVerne Woods, Joey and Irene Hairrell, as well as his grandfather, David Ashalintubbi. He was also predeceased by his paternal great-grandparents, Will and Juanita McPeak, Vanita Queen, and Perry Williams.

On Sunday, January 8, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., there will be a memorial service for Hunter at the Idabel High School Auditorium, officiated by Bros. Andrew Riddle, Doug Clements, and Chris Carey. The Denison Cemetery will then be used for the burial. On Saturday, January 7, 2023, family and friends will be welcomed at the Clardy Funeral Service Chapel from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family asks that donations be sent to the McCurtain County National Bank’s Hunter McPeak Memorial Scholarship Fund in lieu of flowers.
