Greg Reed Obituary, WVSSAC Assistant Executive Director Has Died Unexpectedly

Greg Reed Obituary, Death – In December 2015, Reed was chosen to join the West Virginia Secondary Schools and Activities Commission, and he subsequently received a seat on the body. As one of his numerous duties with the state regulatory body that oversaw high school athletics in the state, Reed worked as the cross country, soccer, basketball, baseball, and tennis supervisor in addition to his many other duties. The state’s high school athletics were governed by this organization. This committee was in charge of managing the high school’s athletic offerings.

Before joining the management team of the West Virginia Secondary School Activities Commission in 2015, Reed served as the assistant principal and athletic director at Martinsburg High School from 2003 to 2015. From 2003 to 2015, Reed worked at Martinsburg High School. The facility was then located in Martinsburg, a city in the state of West Virginia. During his employment at Nicholas County High School, which spanned the years 1989 to 2003 and included a total of four sports, Reed was in charge of all the athletic programs. He was in charge of all of those sports at the time.

In addition to leading the girls track team at East Hardy High School during the academic year 1988–1989, Reed served as an assistant football coach there as well. There, he collaborated with David Walker, who later rose to the position of head coach at Martinsburg. He also collaborated with David Walker there. David Walker and Reed were working together on a project at the time. Glenville State College, West Virginia University, and Salem International University are where Reed earned his advanced degrees. These three institutions of higher learning are all situated in West Virginia. Additionally, Reed completed his undergraduate studies at Glenville State College. After playing basketball for a while at Georgia Southwestern College under the guidance of then-head coach Gary Nottingham, Reed went on to get his degree in 1987.
