Gertie Harmon Obituary, Resident of Marion, Tennessee Has Died at 84

Gertie Harmon Obituary, Death – Gertie Edna Harmon, who was 84 years old and from Marion, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord at 5:20 in the morning on Friday, January 6, 2023, at the residence of her daughter in Swayzee. On Thursday, May 5, 1938, she was welcomed into the world in Delaware County, Indiana, by her parents, Charles and Eathel (Fletcher) Dobson. She tied the knot with G.L. “Babe” Harmon on the 4th of December in 1955, and he passed away before she did. Gertie received her high school education at Van Buren and afterward went on to work for Thomson Consumer Electronics. She attended the Liberty Baptist Church on a regular basis. Lugar Creek Riding Stables was owned by Gertie, her husband Babe, and their family. She was an avid traveler and has visited each of the 48 states that make up the continental United States.

Those who survived her include her daughters, Louellen Harmon of Marion and Robin Brookshire of Swayzee; her sister, Martha Harmon of Marion (who predeceased her brother Tom); her grandchildren, Jason (Jennifer) Barnum, Aimee Barnum, Bradley Barnum, Jade Smith, Breezy Brookshire, Emily (Landon) Shire, and Margaret (Brian) Kelsey; and her great-grandchildren, a total of 12 of them. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Glenna Barnum; son, Courtlin Harmon; son-in-law, Rob Brookshire; brother, Charles William “Bill” Dobson; sisters, Mary Davis, Betty Mayo, Joyce Adkins, and Phyllis Dobson; and great-grandson, Elijah Whitson. She is survived by her son, Courtlin Harmon; daughter, Glenna Barnum; son, Courtlin Harmon; daughter-in-law,

On Monday, January 9, 2023, the family will be present at the North Chapel of Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service located at 1341 N. Baldwin Ave. in Marion, Indiana to greet friends and family from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. A memorial service honoring Gertie’s life will get underway at one o’clock in the afternoon, just after the visitation period, and Pastor Adam Drake will preside over the event. The Gardens of Memory in Marion are going to be used for the interment.
