Everette Smith Obituary, Goochland, Virginia Native Passes Away At 83

Everette Smith Obituary, Death – On January 23, 2023, Everette Smith, 83, of Goochland, Virginia, died away peacefully in the company of his family and friends in the comfort of his own home.
On May 12th, 1939, in the county of Nelson, Everette Dolan was welcomed into this world by her parents, Percy and Edna Mae Dolan. His mother and father both passed away, as did his sister Pearl Lacey (Ed), and his daughter Janice Scruggs. He was the last surviving member of his family. He is the only member of his immediate family that is still alive today.

He is survived by his wife Audrey, to whom he has been married for the previous six decades; three siblings, Evelyn Lattanze (Dixie), Harold Smith (Linda), and Linda Watson (Roy); two daughters, Genevieve Wood (Ernie), and Virginia Sanford; five grandchildren, Darin Scruggs (Amber), Kelly Scruggs (Daniel), Robbie Wood, Tanya Robinson (Michael), and Heather Smith (Jon);
Everette was a very active member of the community. In addition to playing softball and bowling, he was a member of the Manakin Fire Department Company #1. He also served as a deacon at the Dover Baptist Church.

At the Norman Funeral Chapel in Goochland, there will be a viewing on Friday, January 27th, from 6 to 8 o’clock in the evening. Dover Baptist Church, which can be found at 365 Manakin Road in Manakin-Sabot, Virginia, will be the location of the funeral service that will take place on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at 11:00 am. The event known as Intermittent will take place at Greenwood Memorial Gardens on the morning of Monday, January 30, 2023 at eleven o’clock in the morning. Greenwood Memorial Gardens is located at 12609 Patterson Avenue in Richmond, Virginia 23238.
The family has requested that in lieu of sending flowers, donations be made to the Dover Baptist Church, which can be found at 365 Manakin Road, Manakin-Sabot, Virginia 23103.
