Evan Hill Obituary, 33-year-old Man of Lexington Has Died

Evan Hill Obituary, Death – Evan Hawthorne Hill, 33, of Lexington, died on January 5, 2023, at the OhioHealth Mansfield Emergency Room from pneumonia and a pulmonary embolism. Brittany was seldom far from his side. Evan’s coworkers at OhioHealth’s Protective Services saluted him as he left. On April 12, 1989, he was born to Dr. Stephen Alan Hill and Cynthia (Sweeney) Hill. He went to St. Pete’s until sixth grade, then to Lexington High School (where he was the “class clown”) and then to North Central State College. Evan worked at Wendy’s and Walmart before joining OhioHealth Mansfield as a Protective Services Officer in 2015. He especially appreciated working with his late father, Dr. Hill.

On May 14, 2016, he married Brittany Worley at Mansfield’s First Congregational Church. Despite having taken the same math class in high school, they first “officially” met in 2010 at Walmart. Evan’s sense of humor helped break the ice on a double date at Chipotle arranged by Brittany’s brother-in-law Josh. Evan is a wonderful father. Stephen Hawthorne Hill, his son, was born weighing just over 1 pound. He fought for his life for 340 days and prevailed. Evan volunteered at the hospital so that Brittany could be a full-time caregiver. Evan was interested in cars and car audio (you may recall his green Dodge Durango! ), so he customized an SUV for his son. He sold their house and built a new one to meet Stephen’s rising requirements. Stephen is nonverbal, yet he shares his father’s loud chuckle. Evan was impressed with Stephen’s progress.

Evan had big dreams. Injury prevented him from participating in weightlifting and martial arts, particularly Aikido, like his father did. He’s good with statistics and ideas. Evan was clever, friendly, and talkative. Evan’s chattiness once soothed a tense patient. Evan would leave if the patient pretended to sleep. Evan’s. He listened to anything from Frank Sinatra to Metallica at maximum volume. He prioritized his family and friends before himself. He will be missed by far too many people to include in his obituary. Evan is survived by his wife of seven years and partner of thirteen years, Brittany Hill, and their four-year-old son Stephen Hill; siblings Meghan Hill (Andy Bores) of New York, Donovan Hill of Ohio, and Caelin Hill of Ohio; siblings-in-law Jessica & Nathan Kiger of Mansfield and Karie & Josh Whitaker of Lexington; nieces and nephews Patrick Bores, Rowan Johnson, Connor Roseborough, Addison Roseborough
