Evan Bayouth Obituary, Death – BAYOUTH Gloria, 79, died quietly on October 31, 2004. Gloria was the fifth of five children born in Collinsville, Oklahoma. Mr. and Mrs. Wadia A. Bayouth gave birth to her on October 4, 1925, in Morris, Oklahoma. She helped the war effort by working at the Douglas Airplane Company in Tulsa, for which she was recognized. On June 7, 1948, she married Kay M. Bayouth at Trinity Episcopal Church in Tulsa. They lived in Collinsville and owned the family business, Bayouth’s Department Store, from 1946 to 1982. She was a member of the Collinsville Home Representative Club, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the Eastern Star.

She was a founder member and active member of Tulsa’s St. Antony’s Orthodox Christian Church’s Ladies Auxiliary. Gloria was a friendly lady who understood how to have a good time. She was a gracious lady who was pleasant and loving to everyone in every way. She made numerous charitable contributions. She gladly shared her wonderful heart with others. Her true love of God, loyalty to her family and community, and desire to help others all helped her find peace and purpose in life. Those who had the pleasure of knowing her will miss her greatly. Gloria was predeceased by her brothers, Jack Bayouth and Josephine Homsey, as well as two sisters, Helen “Buster” Evans Naifeh and Helen “Buster” Evans Naifeh. Kay M. Bayouth, her spouse, survives her.

Gloria is also survived by two sons, Doug Bayouth of Tulsa and Kay Jr. “Snooks” Bayouth and wife, Stacy, of Collinsville, and granddaughter, Dylan Kaline; a daughter, Phyllis Bayouth Ahlerich and husband, Don, of Tulsa, and granddaughter, J.P. Guffey of Tulsa; and numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews. On Monday, November 1, 2004, at 7 p.m., a Trisagion Prayer Service was held at St. Antony’s Orthodox Christian Church, 2645 E. 6th Street in Tulsa. A funeral service will be placed at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, 1007 N. 19th in Collinsville, OK, on Tuesday, November 2, 2004, at 1 p.m. The deceased will be laid to rest at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville. The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to St. Antony’s Church in Tulsa in lieu of flowers. The phone number for Collinsville Funeral Home is (918) 371-2111.
