Doug Rankin Obituary – Douglas M. Rankin, age 56, of O’Fallon, Illinois, formerly of Collinsville, Illinois, and born on March 16, 1966, in Granite City, Illinois, passed away at home on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, in the presence of his loved ones. Douglas M. Rankin was born in Granite City, Illinois. In addition to his employment as a financial advisor for Edward Jones, Doug was also employed in the banking industry for a significant portion of his career.
He received his high school education at Metro East Lutheran and afterward attended Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, where he graduated with a degree in marketing. He served as an Elder at Trinity Lutheran Church and worked in the internet service provider business. He was active in the community by taking part in athletics, being a member of the Collinsville Recreation Club, and spending time with his family at Lake Sara in Effingham. Doug’s favorite things to do were to host a variety of “food fests” and to spend time with his family, friends, and neighbors.
Judy Cochran, who was his wife’s mother, passed away before he did. Doug is survived by his loving wife Lori (nee Cochran) Rankin, whom he married on April 6, 1991; two sons, Matthew and Will Rankin of Florissant, Missouri, and O’Fallon, Illinois, respectively; a granddaughter, Lila Brandt; his parents, Duane and Ruth (nee Woehler) Rankin; a brother, Ken (Debbie) Rankin of Bel Air, Maryland; two sisters, Pam and Cindy Visitation will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church on January 13, 2023, from 4 to 7 p.m. and on January 14, 2023, from 9 to 10 a.m. both days.
The church is located at 600 Water Street in Edwardsville, Illinois. The funeral service will be presided over by the Reverend John Shank and will take place in the church on the morning of Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 10 o’clock. The funeral and interment will take place at the Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery in Collinsville.
