Desmond O’Connell Obituary, Death – We were shocked to hear about the demise of Mr. Des O’Connell, who was a longtime legend in this neighborhood. Des was a well-respected and highly cherished member of the community who participated in a wide variety of organizations. His devoted wife Mary, their sons James, Richard, and Nicholas, as well as their families, and the many members of the extended O’Connell family are among those who will miss him. During this extremely difficult time, our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
DESMOND JAMES O’CONNELL
On January 13, 2023, at the age of 87 years, the late “Templemore” Lockhart died away in a calm and tranquil environment, surrounded by his loving family. Mary’s husband, whom everyone adores. A devoted father and father-in-law of James and Paula, Richard and Tanya, Nicholas and Renee, his children, and their spouses. Grandfather Des, as he was affectionately known, was loved by Daniel, Patrick, Eleanor, Edward, Georgia, Abbey, Brianna, Hayden, Sophia, and William.
O’Connell was the youngest son of Garnet and Margaret, both of whom passed away, and he was the spoiled brother of Jack (deceased), Garry, Cobber (deceased), and Helen (deceased), as well as their families. On Friday, the 20th of January 2023, at 2:00 p.m., a Christian burial service will be placed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lockhart. After the closing prayers of the Mass, the funeral procession will thereafter make its way to the Lockhart Lawn Cemetery. The presence of family and friends is politely requested at this event.
