David Dillard Death, Obituary – David Mark Dillard, a 64-year-old citizen of the Mooreville and Mantachie areas, passed away and went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 6, 2023. We mourn the departure of David Mark Dillard with a deep feeling of loss and an abundance of love for him. Baker Dillard and Ruby Ketcham Dillard had 17 children together, but both of them died before their offspring were born. David was one of them. His birth took place on July 7, 1958.
By this time, both of his parents had passed away. In Plantersville, where he also finished his high school education at Nettleton, he started his career in the building and construction industry as a master house painter. He resided in Plantersville and attended Nettleton during his formative years. Fishing and hunting were two of David’s favorite pastimes, along with spending time with his grandchildren. In addition, he was an active member of his neighborhood’s breakfast club.
His spouse Susan Adkin Dillard, whom he wed on March 31, 1979; their daughters Emily Spradlin and Megan Kelso, both of Mooreville, Mississippi; Jackson Kelso and Megan Kelso, both of Mantachie; and their grandchildren Izzy (Izarella) Spradlin, Owen Hood (Big O), Jasper Spradlin (Jabo), Shepard Spradlin (Shep Dog), and Ivy Kelso (Sass). On Monday, January 9, 2023, a prayer service will be held in the Sadie Holland Memorial chapel at Holland Funeral Directors at five o’clock in the afternoon.
At Holland Funeral Directors, the ceremony will be place. The officiant for the marriage will be Brother Troy McConnell. Once the funeral service is over, the family will meet and welcome their friends. The Dillard family would like to express their gratitude to Ginger, Abby, Chyna, Amber, and Stevie as well as the rest of the staff at the UAB Heart and Lung Transplant, Intensive Care Unit, and Gentiva Hospice for the care and compassion they provided.
