Daniel Chapa Obituary, Death – We mourn the death of Daniel Lee Chapa of Alice, Texas, with deep grief and love. Daniel died on January 11, 2023, at the age of 31. He was a kind son, a wonderful friend, and a dedicated spouse. Daniel was enthusiastic about his activities and did everything with a smile.

He enjoyed golf, singing, dancing, and was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan. He worked at ArcelorMittal in Port Land, Texas. He met his second family, his work family, here. Daniel’s work family welcomed him warmly, and he was happy to be a member of their Emergency Response Team. Daniel got a Process Technology Industrial Instrumentation certification from Del Mar College, and he was extremely proud of the training and education that enabled him to achieve his goal.

He was grateful for the chances afforded to him by his degree and career. Daniel was the epitome of a family man, living for his wife and children. Every day, he made it a point to be present and let his family know how much he loved them, from sporting events and school activities to domestic tasks and everyday Arcelor rituals to playing in the front yard.

Daniel was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Santos Flores and Ernesto Salinas, Baldemar and Beatrice Flores; paternal grandfather, Homer Chapa; uncle, Albert Rey Chapa; aunt, Yolanda Chapa; and great-grandmother, Rosa Flores, Olivia Chapa is a cousin. Dara DeLayne Chapa, his love of 15 years and wife of 7 years; children: Zaiden Lee Chapa, Lainey Lee Chapa, Landen Daniel Chapa, Liam Lucas Chapa, and Baby Chapa to be, Leya DeLayne; his cherished pet: Sophie Chapa; parents: Luis “Ronnie” and Yolanda Chapa; Gilbert and Anita Martinez Jr., Michael and Rebecca Mendiola; grandparents: Minerva Chapa, Yolanda Lewis, Margie Martinez, Gilbert and Cindy Lewis, Raquel Salinas; siblings: Jenny (Juan III) Vela, Veronica (Raul) Oliva-rez, and Luis (Grace) Chapa Jr.; brothers/sisters in law: Kendra (Troy) Garcia, Matthew (Shelby) Garcia, Christopher (Alexis) Men

The family will welcome friends and relatives at Rosas Funeral Home at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, with a Holy Rosary to be read at 7:00 PM that evening. The funeral Mass will be held at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. The services will end at the church.

Luis Chapa Jr., Enrique Luis, Roger Deleon, Josh Garcia, Jon Eric Vela, Xavier Hernandez, Ramiro Ordonez, and Eric Luna will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that floral gifts be donated to the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church Altar in Alice. Rosas Funeral Home has been entrusted with the preparations.
