Connor Flanagan Obituary, Tyngsborough Massachusetts resident has passed away

Connor Flanagan Obituary, Death – Connor Michael Flanagan, age 24 and a resident of Tyngsborough, Massachusetts, passed away at his home on January 11, 2023. He was the brother of Mollie Flanagan, who lived in Tyngsborough, Massachusetts, and the son of Michael Flanagan and Jennifer (Shepherd) Flanagan. He was born in Lowell, Massachusetts. Connor received his diploma in 2017 from Tyngsborough High School, which is located in Tyngsborough, Massachusetts. He received his bachelor of arts in communication from Westfield State University and was a member of the university’s class of 2021 graduates.

Connor’s time spent at Westfield as a team manager and special assistant for the Westfield State Football Team was the experience in which he felt the greatest sense of accomplishment. Connor was a devoted follower of college football and especially treasured the several occasions on which he was able to travel to South Bend to cheer on his alma mater, Notre Dame.

After receiving a diagnosis of leukemia at the age of 6, Connor fought the disease for nearly 17 years, during which he underwent a bone marrow transplant as well as a bilateral lung transplant. The personnel at Boston Children’s Hospital, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, many of whom were still in constant contact with him, expressed gratitude for his positivity and resilience while he was a patient at one of those hospitals.

Connor is survived by his maternal grandmother, Sherryl Shepherd of Lowell, MA, his paternal grandparents, Richard and Brenda Flanagan of Chelmsford, MA, and his aunts and uncles, Jon and Patricia Shepherd of Lowell, MA, Peter and Sharon Flanagan of Wilmington, DE, and Derek and Sandra Flanagan of Chelmsford, MA, as well as his many cousins. Robert Shepherd, Connor’s paternal grandfather, lived in Lowell, Massachusetts, and passed away in September 1991. Connor’s granddad passed away before him.

Connor’s visiting hours will be Mon. from 3 to 7 pm at the DOLAN FUNERAL HOME, 106 MIDDLESEX STREET, N. CHELMSFORD, MA. Tuesday, at ten in the morning, funeral services will be held at the Lawrence Street Primitive Methodist Church in Lowell. Lowell Cemetery was chosen for the interment.
