Claude Wilston Obituary, Death – On Wednesday, January 4, 2023, Claude R. Wilston, who was 94 years old and lived in Tioga, Pennsylvania, passed away at home. He was the son of Robert and Winifred (Reynolds) Wilston and was born on Monday, July 23, 1928 in the town of Nelson, Pennsylvania. Claude was a retired employee of the PennDOT. He had been a member of the Tioga Lodge #373 F&AM for 73 years, in addition to being a long-time attendee of the First Baptist Church in Tioga.
He is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Lewis and Charleen Wilston, of Tioga, Pennsylvania, and Gary and Tina Wilston, of Penn Yan, New York; his two daughters and a son-in-law, Nancy and Pete Heck, of Knoxville, Pennsylvania, and Sue Wilcox, of Tioga, Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Claude’s wife of 41 years, the former Anna Baker, who passed away in 1991; his brother Donald; and one grandchild all passed away before him. Claude’s parents were also among those who died before him.
Donations in memory of Claude can be made to the Hammond Cemetery Association, which is located at 533 North Road in Middlebury, Pennsylvania 16935. These can be sent in lieu of flowers.
On Sunday, January 8, 2023, members of the family and other friends paid their respects at the Wilston-Currie Funeral Home, which is located in Mansfield, Pennsylvania at 130 South Main Street. There were funeral services held, and Pastor Bill Baker was the one who presided. The Hammond Cemetery in Tioga, Pennsylvania, will be the location of Claude’s interment after his death.
