Carol Bailey – Carol Combs Bailey passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, in the city of Hazard, Kentucky. She was 84 years old. She called the town of Hazard in Kentucky her home.
She was the daughter of Ira J. Combs, who had passed away, and Eliza Smith Combs, who had also passed away. Neither of her parents survived her. In addition, she was preceded in death by both her husband, Paul Bailey, and five of her sisters in addition to four of her brothers. She is survived by one daughter, Lori Ann Hunsaker, who is married to Floyd; one son, Jerry Wayne Bailey, who is married to Carla; two grandchildren, Tyler Scott Bailey and Emily Lauren Hunsaker; two special friends, Joyce Hall McKinney and Mary Rose Brewer; Natalie Grigsby Riddle, whom she loved like her own child; and a host of special nieces, nephews, family, and friends. She is also survived by a host of special family and friends She will be sorely missed by everyone.
At this moment, Maggard’s Mtn. View Chapel is in charge of making the necessary arrangements, and they will be conducting a visitation on Friday, January 6, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM for members of the immediate family as well as any other friends and acquaintances of the deceased. The burial service will take place atop Maggard’s Mountain as it has been traditionally done. View Chapel on Friday, January 6, 2023, at noon, and the officiants for the ceremony will be Kenny Smith and Paul Sluss.
The interment in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Southeast will take place in Hyden, Kentucky. This spot has been chosen specifically for this purpose. In the event that someone prefers not to send flowers, they are welcome to make a contribution to the Bluegrass Care Navigators instead. The following individuals have been invited to serve as pallbearers during the funeral: Floyd Hunsaker, Tyler Bailey, Robert Pigman, Hunter Pigman, Eddie Carroll, and Paul Nippes.
