Byron Weekly Obituary, Death – APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (VVNG.com) – A tragic car accident that took place early on Sunday morning in the Town of Apple Valley claimed the life of an elderly gentleman who had reached the age of 86 years old. The victim was a middle-aged man at most. A collision involving two vehicles took place on the morning of January 22, 2023, at approximately 6:03 in the morning. Both cars were engaged in the accident. Shortly after the incident was reported, deputies from Apple Valley Station and rescue personnel from the Apple Valley Fire Department arrived at the scene. The collision occurred on State Highway 18 in the community of Apple Valley, specifically at the intersection where it meets Flathead Road.
Byron Weekly, 86 years old, a resident of Apple Valley, California, passed away as a result of an unexpected accident after being involved in a collision with another vehicle (Hugo C. Valdez, VVNG.
The deputies found out that a black 2015 Dodge Challenger was approaching Flathead Road from the westbound lanes of State Highway 18, and that a red 2016 Kia Sorento was approaching State Highway 18 from the northbound lanes of Flathead Road. Both of these discoveries were made by the deputies while they were patrolling the area. These two automobiles were involved in a collision that took place on State Highway 18 and affected other vehicles as well. According to officials from the sheriff’s office, it is presently unknown which vehicle failed to stop at the red traffic signal, which led to the collision between the two vehicles that took place in the junction. The incident was caused by the collision between the two automobiles. The collision that took place in the intersection between the two automobiles was the root cause of this problem. The driver of the Kia was involved in the collision, and he was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment after the accident. Unfortunately, he was unable to recover from his injuries, and he was pronounced dead at the hospital later on.
After conducting an autopsy on the deceased individual, the San Bernardino County Coroner was able to positively identify him as Byron Weekly. Apple Valley was home to the mysterious figure known only as Weekly. Following the collision, the driver of the Dodge was sent to St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment of injuries that were assessed as not being immediately life-threatening.
Investigators from the Major Accident Investigative Team (M.A.I.T) of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department have arrived and are in the process of conducting an investigation into the incident. Between Kiowa Road and Dale Evans Parkway, the section of State Highway 18 that was affected by the incident was fully closed for the approximately two hours it took for law enforcement officers to process the situation. During this time, there were restrictions placed on all lanes of the route.
