Brittany Frances Obituary, Death – Brittany Frances (Scaggs) Brooks, age 30, from Verdunville, West Virginia, was given her angel wings on January 18, 2023, at Logan Regional Medical Center in Logan, West Virginia. On April 2, 1992, our beautiful and brave angel was born to Ronnie and Debbie (Tomblin) Scaggs of Verdunville in Logan, West Virginia. Ronnie and Debbie both hailed from Verdunville. Her grandfather Lenford Tomblin, her grandmother Myrtle, and her grandfather Will Osborne all passed away before she did.
Those who are left to honor her memory are her children, Lainey, Colton, Ava, Jessa, and Damion Brooks of Verdunville; her mamaw, Lucille Tomblin of Verdunville; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; and her furbabies, Freya and Conway. Her parents are Ronnie and Debbie Scaggs of Verdunville; her husband Billy Brooks of Verdunville; her brother Brandon Sc. Brittany’s family would like to express their gratitude to the emergency room staff, Dr. Billy Mullen, and Dr. Marzouk for the exceptional care that they provided for their loved one.
Additionally, we would want to thank all of our family, friends, and church family members that came to see us in the hospital and spent numerous hours there. I pray that God’s blessings fall upon each of you. Brittany had a soft spot in her heart for animals, particularly dogs, and she had previously volunteered with the Paw Squad in Logan, West Virginia. In addition to that, she was a caring foster parent for the Logan organization Necco Foster Care and Counseling. Brittany received her high school diploma from Logan in the year 2011.
Visitation is scheduled to take place at the Maryetta United Baptist Church in Verdunville, West Virginia, on Sunday, January 22, 2023, from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm. The funeral services will take place on Monday, January 23, 2023, at noon, also at the church. Pastor Lonnie Gore and Assistant Pastor Barney Goins will preside over the ceremony. After the service, burial will take place in the Highland Memory Gardens in Godby, West Virginia.
The following individuals have been asked to serve as pallbearers: Jeremy Tomblin, Dave Lisy Jr., Frank Lisy, Jeffery Bryant, Dave May, Mike Moss, and Brian May. Brandon Scaggs, Ray Bryant, Brian Tomblin, Lenford Lee Tomblin, and Eric Thacker will serve as honorary bearers of the casket during the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, the family begs that donations be made to Collins Service Home Inc. to assist with the costs associated with the funeral.
