Billie Lin Rockford IL, Woman who died after falling through ice in Rock River identified

Billie Lin Obituary, Death – The authorities have been able to identify the woman who passed away after falling through the ice on the Rock River. She was 54 years old. First responders stated that they learned about the event for the first time at approximately 10:00 a.m. on Friday and that they immediately hurried to the 6500 block of South Edgewater Drive in the Town of Rock. Following the initial emergency reaction, dive teams from Rock County and Janesville were dispatched to the location.

A deceased woman in her 54th year was located by the teams, and they delivered her to the medical examiner for further examination. Dr. Billie S. Lin, who was 54 years old at the time of her death, was found to have drowned, according to the findings of a preliminary forensic investigation.

The Rock County Sheriff’s Department and the Rock County Medical Examiner’s Department are continuing their investigation into the incident. Since 1996, Dr. Lin had been employed in the UW Health system.

During his 26 years of service at SwedishAmerican and UW Health, Dr. Lin was an esteemed member of the medical staff. She had an impact on many people’s lives in both our community and our healthcare system. During this time of unfathomable loss, we want her family, friends, and coworkers to know that we are absolutely crushed by this loss and send our sincere condolences to them.

On Friday, December 30, the UW Health Northern Illinois Immediate Care Clinic will shut earlier than usual so that the staff members who work there can attend the funeral and memorial services. Immediate Care will close at 3 o’clock in the afternoon and will reopen on time on Saturday, December 31, at 10 o’clock in the morning.
