Bill Gamble Obituary, Bill Gamble of Notre Dame High School has passed away

Bill Gamble Obituary, Death – This morning, as a result of complications from a medical procedure, Mr. Bill Gamble, a long-standing member of our faculty who had taught in the mathematics department for thirty-four years and had taught many of you, passed away unexpectedly. He had taught in that department for the entirety of his career. For a very considerable amount of time, Mr. Gamble served as a member of our teaching staff. There are no words that can adequately convey the sadness and disbelief that many of you, and probably all of us, are feeling right now. There are no words that can adequately explain the sorrow and disbelief that we are feeling right now.

On Wednesday, we are going to celebrate Mass with the entire school community, including all of the students, teachers, and staff members. Mr. Gamble spent the first thirty-four years of his life at Notre Dame teaching students’ hearts and brains, and he constantly remarked how much he cherished his time spent in the classroom. He was a teacher at Notre Dame for most of his life. Every single person who is a part of our community misses him very much and notices his absence acutely.

We pray, “Grant unto him, O Lord, eternal rest, and let perpetual light shine upon him,” in line with the rites and traditions of our Catholic religion. By the mercy of God, may his soul and the souls of all the faithful people who have died away rest in peace; and may the same be said for all of those who have passed away.
