When the dog that lived in the house attacked and killed Bella-Rae, she was just 17 months old at the time. Bella-Rae had passed away in the “most unimaginably horrific circumstances,” according to Merseyside Police, and the community had “woken up to the most devastating news,” according to those same authorities. On Monday, at approximately 3:50 p.m., officers got a report that a youngster living at the address in Blackbrook had been assaulted by a dog there. Bella-Rae was taken to the hospital in a timely manner; nevertheless, she did not survive her injuries and passed away. The dog was turned over to the authorities, and it was later put down in a humane manner.
According to the officers, the dog will be subjected to more forensic investigations so that it can be determined what breed it is and whether or not the Dangerous Dogs Act recognizes it as a legitimate breed (1991).
