The following information was released by the police late on Wednesday morning:
On January 18, 2022, around 4:30 in the morning, officers from Daphne responded to a crash that had occurred on westbound Interstate 10 close to the 36-mile marker. A driver reported to 911 that they had struck an unidentified object while driving down the road. According to the findings of the investigation, Anthony J. Norris, 42 years old, who was from Jeanerette, Louisiana, had been struck and killed.
The driver of the vehicle that was involved in the accident was unharmed as a result of the incident. Mr. Norris was out for a stroll when he noticed the dense fog that had descended upon the area.
While he was in the Daphne area for work-related activities, he got into a disagreement with a colleague while they were driving. After the argument, Mr. Norris got out of the car and started walking away from the scene. Although it does not appear to be a criminal matter, please accept our condolences on behalf of our team for Mr. Norris’s loved ones and family.
