Andrew Tuttle Obituary, Death – On January 16, 2023, in Bridgewater, New Hampshire, my grandfather, Andrew H. Tuttle, who was also known as Andy and Tut, passed away unexpectedly. Since the motorcycle accident that he was in in 1997, he has been dealing with a number of different health conditions for a considerable amount of time. My sister Katie and I would like to express our appreciation for your love and support during this difficult time. It was his final wish that his ashes be scattered at the Veterans Cemetery in the spring, and that is exactly what will happen when the weather warms up.
In the course of his employment with the United States Postal Service, which spanned more than three decades, he was a fervent supporter of workers’ rights and a proud member of both the local and the American Postal Workers Union. Andrew is survived by his three daughters, Katie (Ian Smit) of Des Moines, Melody of Brooklyn, New York, and Hannah (Howard) Harmsen of Des Moines, as well as his two granddaughters, Esmé and Phoebe. Melody lives in Brooklyn, New York.
Hannah is married to Howard Harmsen and lives in Des Moines. Hannah is originally from Des Moines, Iowa, but she now makes her home in Brooklyn, New York. In addition to this, he is survived by 11 siblings, all of whom will be deeply saddened by the passing of the sixth member of their family group: Linn from Indianola; Mark (Cindy) from Urbandale; Janet Thatcher from Plano, Texas; Barb (Kelly) O’Brien from Urbandale; Brian (Julie) from Shorewood, Minnesota; Thom (Cheryl) from Des Moines; Jason (Helen) from Des Moines; Julie from Urbandale; Matt (Peg) from Minneapolis, Minnesota; Carrie (Eric) Wolfe from Des Moines; and Jamie (Keriann Before he did, both of his parents, James Tuttle and Theresa Tuttle, passed away. He followed in their footsteps. A memorial service commemorating Andrew’s life will take place at a later time.
